Ayscoughfee Hall School Ayscoughfee Hall School

Children at Ayscoughfee Hall School have been as busy as ever both in and out of their classrooms.
Sport has featured heavily in recent weeks with netball and football matches and both local and regional cross country competitions in which the children performed very well. The Hockey ‘A’ term won the Agilitas tournament and now go through to the regional finals whilst all the Junior children gave gym displays to the rest of the school and their parents.

StarLincs Planetarium visited school and Year 1 and Year 5 children enjoyed a morning star gazing and learning about the planets. Not to be out done, Year 3 spent a day at the Peterborough Museum dressed as Romans, sourcing ingredients for a banquet and handling real Roman artefacts. Year 2 meanwhile, completed their work on fire safety by visiting the local fire station where they were able to learn more about the work of fire fighters and have a go at using a high-pressure hose.

The whole school took part in the NSPCC Maths Challenge Day and had a great time engaged in practical maths activities whilst raising money for this great charity. Kindergarten , having had a visit from a Guide Dog, chose to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind and over £250 was raised for the Australian Relief Fund through a cake sale planned by a Reception pupil and Eco Club and the sale of bracelets made by a Year 1 pupil
